Information centre in Budimir was founded in June 2015 by Zuzana and Peter Kšenžigh. The main goal was to create a space with a coherent system of promotion not only of the village of Budimir, but also of the surrounding area. The main subject of their activity is to provide information about the village of Budimir and its surroundings, to sell souvenirs and to organize guided tours of the village. In the future, a bicycle rental shop and a workshop for the organisation of creative workshops (weaving, pottery, embroidery, etc.) should be added.
There are excellent conditions for hiking, sports and cultural activities in the wider surroundings of Budimír. Nevertheless, there was a lack of facilities offering the above-mentioned services and assortment.
The premises where our information centre is located are on the 1st floor the older manor house "Florián" at the "Parade Court". Opposite the manor house there is a historic granary, which serves as a storehouse for antiques of the LinArt company, which organizes one of the biggest exhibitions every 3rd Saturday of the month. antique market in Slovakia. Hundreds of antiques, art and history enthusiasts visit the village every time. The advantage of the location of the operation is the possibility of parking for visitors in the parking lot on the "Old Road", close to accommodation and catering facilities, the presence of historical monuments in the village and, of course, the strategic location of the village Budimír with good transport links to the nearby cities of Košice and Prešov. A great advantage of the operation is its location directly in the manor house, which is declared a national cultural monument and which is not normally open to the public. During guided tours it is also possible to visit this manor house, the historic granary, the old evangelical church, the Roman Catholic church and the Zeljearsky house.
Surroundings of the village Budimir and the whole region Šariš is rich in natural wealth for tourism. The Slanské vrchy and Čierna hora mountains provide many opportunities in every season. Among the most interesting locations of the surrounding area include the geyser in Herľany, the opal mine Dubník, the Nature Reserve Rankovské skaly, ranches and riding schools in Kráľovce, Trebejov, Chrastno and Janovík, the Museum of the Battle of Rozhanovce in the village Rozhanovce, the Čerešenka lookout tower in Čižatice, the Romanesque-Gothic church in Svinčice, the water mill in Kostoľany nad Hornádom, manor houses in the surrounding villages and many others.
