Back in 2021 there was still a non-functioning fountain in front of the Centre of Trade and Services in Bardejovské Kúpele, which had not fulfilled its original role for many years. However, the unused space has undergone a significant transformation in the following years.
Between 2022 and 2023, Bardejovské Kúpele, a.s. revitalized this space and created a new park dedicated to the most famous native of Bardejov and an important personality of the spa - the composer, conductor and violinist Béla Kéler.
The park includes an original musical bench and a commemorative plaque, which were created in cooperation with the artistic blacksmith František Sarvaš. Ten selected Kéler compositions and the text of the memorial plaque were prepared by the Béla Kéler Society. The park was "inaugurated" on 27 June 2023 and today offers a place of relaxation and a quiet return to the spa's musical past.
Béla Kéler had a special relationship to Bardejov Spa. In 1850 he inherited his parents' house here, where he liked to return from his numerous concert tours in Europe. As he spent most of the year abroad, he rented out the house to spa guests. In his garden there was a mineral spring called Anna, the water of which was bottled and sent out into the world.
