Observation towers: the Old and the New Beggar, Hervartov, Slovakia

Lookout tower Žobrák 893 m above sea level.

Near the Žobrák hill, in the Čergov Mountains, at an altitude of 893 m above sea level, there are now two wooden observation towers - the „old“ and the „new“ observation tower. The total elevation is 427 metres over a 3 km stretch. The lookout tower is located about one minute behind the Žobrák saddle, in the direction of Šoltýsova poľana. The total ascent from Hervartov takes about one and a half hours. It offers a view of the Čergov Mountains and the villages at the foot of Čergov - Hervartov, Mihalov, Kľušov, Bartošovce. From the village of Križe the elevation is 333 metres and the climb itself takes about one hour. The towers are about 80 metres apart. The lookout tower offers nice views of the wide surroundings, including a view of the main ridge of Čergov.
