In the past, a small spa was established here near the sulphur mineral spring called Švabľovka (Švabľuvka). The history of the spa in Sabinov dates back to the end of the 15th century. Rheumatic and skin diseases were treated here. It was based on the original sulphur bath, or sulphur water spring, which can still be found under the shore in a hole cut into the rock. The baths were also a place of fun and relaxation and provided simple but effective treatments for rheumatic diseases. In recent years their buildings have fallen into complete disrepair and have disappeared. Only the foundations of the buildings remain.
At present, there are four nature trail routes through the forest park in the surrounding mountains of Čergov and Bachureň with beautiful natural scenery and the ruins of Hanigov Castle.
