Sigord and the surrounding area is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the region Prešov. It is situated within the cadastral area of the village of Kokošovce, in a natural setting Slanské hills, about a 15-minute drive from Prešov. The reservoir and the area around Sigord are surrounded by green slopes, forest trails and leisure facilities. One of the attractions is Sigord Shipyard, which offers the opportunity to go rowing whilst it is open. There is also an educational trail around the reservoir The Sigord Circle, ideal for an easy stroll and exploring the surrounding area. More experienced walkers can continue Through the Rác Valley to the ruins Bodoň Castle, hidden away in the woods Slanské hills.
Mineral springs in the surrounding area
There are also mineral springs in the immediate vicinity Šťavica and Kyselka. The Šťavica spring is one of the tributaries of the Malá Delňa, which supplies water to the Sigord and Delňa reservoirs. The easiest way to get to Sigord is by car via the village of Kokošovce; you can park in the car park above the boathouse and continue on foot from there.
Entry to the reservoir, walks in the surrounding area and hiking trails are free of charge; however, there may be a charge for seasonal services, such as boat trips or refreshments.
The site is open all year round, but it is advisable to check the current opening times of the boathouse and other attractions before visiting.
