Linden avenue Župčany

The linden avenue belongs to the natural treasures of this village and is included in the list of natural and cultural monuments.
The path between the trees leads to the nearby forest, where herbalist grandmothers used to go to collect medicinal plants.
There are more than 50 trees of the small-leaved lime tree species in the avenue and according to the estimates of the conservationists, these trees are more than a hundred years old. Locals claim that they are even more. Walking through the avenue was popular not only with the rich, like the local landowner Puľský, but also with the poor. While the owner of the župčany manor walked every day with his dog under the mossy trees to the grove for fresh air, the villagers, most of them grandmothers of herbalists, made their way to the nearby grove where they collected medicinal plants. Today, the lane is lined with new buildings, but it is still worth a visit either on foot or by bike in spring, summer, in any season.
