The Greek-Catholic wooden church of St. Bishop Nicholas is considered one of the most beautiful log wooden churches on our territory. It was built in 1775. During World War II, the village of Zboj was in the centre of the biggest fighting and was badly destroyed, as was the wooden church. Although it was later repaired, the locals built a brick church over time and the original wooden one was dismantled, transferred and rebuilt in 1967 in Bardejovské Kúpele.
The wooden temple is a three-part, three-space building with three towers and three crosses. The temple has a log construction, the tower and the shelter a columned construction. The entrance is on the west side. The roofs are pyramidal, covered with shingles, a circular shape is formed over the sanctuary. Above the main tower there is a canopy instead of an onion, a cone and a three-armed simple cross. Above the nave and sanctuary is a similar termination.
The church has one of the most beautiful and well-preserved iconostases from the 18th century. It has a four-row architecture on four floors. The deacon's door is not fitted with a leaf, the Tsar's door is double-leaf. There are six medallions with the four Evangelists and two Annunciation medallions. The first, local, row contains the four main icons: St. Nicholas the Bishop, the Mother of God Hodigitria, Christ the Teacher, and the icon of the Three Hierarchs (St. Basil the Great, St. John Chrysostom, St. Gregory of Nazianzus). The second row contains the icons of the feasts, with the Last Supper in the middle of the row. The third row of apostles has a central icon of Christ the High Priest in the middle. The fourth row of prophets is arranged in twelve medallions, arranged in three semi-arches. The top of the iconostasis consists of a 17th century Calvary with Christ crucified, with the Mother of God and St. John the Evangelist on either side, but atypically on opposite sides.
