Wooden Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, Hutka

The first Greek-Catholic church was built in the village of Hutka in the last third of the 18th century. It was dedicated to St. Cosmas and Damian. However, it was subsequently destroyed by fire in 1915. The second, also originally Greek-Catholic wooden church was built in 1923 and was dedicated to the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God. During the construction of the new temple, lack of funds and haste played a role.
Structurally, it is a one-part, three-space church with three towers and crosses. The temple is of log construction, the tower of column construction. The entrance is on the west side. The whole body of the temple is lined with boards. The main tower is built into the front of the building. At present there are two bells hanging in the tower, one from the 18th century. In the middle of the roof above the nave is a small tower with an onion and a single-armed decorative cross. The rectangular windows in the nave and sanctuary provide favourable light conditions inside the church.
The iconostasis is missing in the temple. There are only three icons of the main row, i.e. the icon of the Mother of God Hodigitria, the icon of Christ the Teacher and the icon of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God. These icons were created in different time periods. The difference can be seen by comparing the Hodigitria and Patronal icons with the much older icon of Christ the Teacher.
In 2000 the church was transferred to the Orthodox Church.
