Curia Koprivnica

Koprivnica is one of the oldest villages in Slovakia. In 1427 it was owned by the Makovice family The Cudars,  it had 62 serfs and it was one of the most populous villages in Šariš.

Later on, Count Dessewffy had his residence in the village, after whom the village was left with a beautiful manor house. The 19th century chateau is one of the most interesting architectural monuments in Koprivnica. The one-storey stone curio house was located in Koprivnica, belonged to Ludovít Bertóty and was partly roofed only with straw, the roof was always in need of repair. It has a three-tract layout, an irregular plan, and is one storey high. The local landowners had their headquarters here and from here they managed their economy in the whole area. After the Second World War, the primary school was located here, but it later moved into its own building and the building gradually fell into disrepair.

In the 1990s, as part of the restitution process, the former owners claimed the cottage and other properties. However, the building was in poor technical condition, so they did not take it over and accepted compensation.

Within a few years, the municipality managed to acquire ownership of the cottage and subsequently renovate it.

The local manor house, as everyone calls this building, was first used to house the municipal library. Subsequently, it was used as a social space for the villagers on various occasions.

The Koprivnica Curia is part of Šariš castle roads
