In the Middle Ages the village of Rožkovany belonged to several landowners, in the 16th century to the Roskoványi family, in the 19th century the Bánó, Péchy, Czabalay and Sentyvanyi families also had property here. Among the most important owners of the village is the Roskovanyi family, which derived its name from the name of the village and survived until the twentieth century. The Bishop of Nitra, Augustine, also came from this family, and in 1858 he had a new church built on a new site in the village at his own expense.
Around 1600 there were 48 farmsteads, manor houses, a manor mill, a rectory, a church and a school. The Szentyványi family left behind the only memorable non-church building in the village - the manor house from 1770. The manor house belonged first to the Czabaláyi family, later it was taken into use by the Roskovanyi family and after them by the Szentivanyi family. Thanks to the landowners - landlords who lived in the village, there were other manor houses in the village. They were named after the names: Roskovanyi's, Czabalayi's, Bánov's and Pechyi's manor. In 1976 the Bánov mansion was demolished due to its dilapidated state and an apartment house was built in its place. The Péchyi mansion, dating from 1750, was bought for the school. The Roskovanyi mansion was bought in 1929 by the Girová and Plavčanová family.
The manor house in Rožkovany is a Baroque-Classical one-storey block two-tract building, on a seven-axis main façade with a medium, partly projecting buttress, which is topped with a triangular pediment. The facades are articulated by frames with a corner banded rush course. The building is constructed of stone, but the vaults, including the basement, are of brick. The whole building has a basement. There is only one entrance to the manor house from the west side from a raised platform, which is reached by a wide stone staircase from the courtyard. There were six living rooms and one large hall.
The manor house changed owners several times and in the 2nd half of the 20th century it also served as a school, library or cinema.
