The historical monument of Veľký Šariš is undoubtedly the steam locomotive, which the Šariš people familiarly call "Mlinská džurka".
The steam locomotive is located on the memorial in the area of the railway station Veľký Šariš. It has a construction mainly of steel, technically at the level of the time of its birth. It is a simple steam engine, whose individual parts are mainly connected by rivets.
The locomotive was powered by a double steam engine, where wet steam was fed through internal ducting by flat sliders. Steam production was provided by a steam boiler burning solid fuel. The water tank is located in a special frame of the locomotive. Connection to the hauled or pushed wagons was made possible by a connecting chain and a locking coupling.
The presently preserved form of the locomotive, without the original conical chimney, boiler fittings, three period lanterns and steam engine rods, is therefore incomplete, which is reflected in the total estimated weight of this locomotive, which is approximately 16 tonnes.
The historical value of the locomotive is incalculable. It is probably the oldest steam locomotive with normal gauge (1435 mm) in Slovakia. It was manufactured by the Munich locomotive factory Krauss & comp. in 1882 under production number 1082 and type designation XXXIIb. The double-axle locomotive was intended for Nagy Saroser Künstmühle (Veľkošarišský mlyn). It carried out shifting work on the mill siding until the 1960s. After World War II it ran for a short time on the line Prešov - Lipany.
