Hendrichovce Manor House

The village of Hendrichovce is situated in the Šariš Highlands in the valley of the river Svinka. In the past, the inhabitants were engaged in traditional agriculture and carriage driving. Until 1918, the village belonged administratively to the Šarišská stoica.

In the middle of the village you will find a historical monument - a classicist manor house, which was built on older foundations. The building is a two-storey, block structure, which has a small balcony on the west side with a metal grill and the initials SG. It is believed that the first owner of the manor house was Maria Hedri, who also had the local church repaired. From the end of the 18th century the manor was owned by the Ghillány family, who gave it as a deposit to Joseph Ganczaugh and his wife. However, the greatest credit for the change of the manor house into a classicist manor belonged to Baron Šándor Ghillány, who enlarged and rebuilt it in 1832. The initials mentioned probably do not belong to Šandor Ghillány but to Stefan Ganczaugh, who lived in the manor all his life. However, this is only a guess, as the initials belong to both owners. Changes to the manor house took place until the beginning of the 20th century.

It was given a new look in 2018, when extensive reconstruction of the manor began. In the first phase, the facade and the exterior of the building are being reconstructed, and later the interior will also be renovated.
