Manor "Lower" Raslavice

In the Middle Ages the village of Raslavice belonged to medium-sized settlements and was the property of various noble families. Most of the population lived by agriculture, of which only about one third farmed on their own. The others worked on the lords' estates as servants - commissaries. There are no records of how many owners took turns on the estates, but their estates were divided into three parts. The first part was sold off to the citizens around 1900. The upper manor house (now the monastery of St. Joseph) belonged to this estate. The next estate was owned by the Bertoti family and the third largest part was owned by the Hedry family from generation to generation. The present lower manor house was built on their estate in the classical style in the middle of the 19th century. It was inherited by Hedry's daughter, who married the landowner Hoľan. After a few years he shot himself for unknown reasons. The wife was left with two sons, she ran the manor herself, but she had no experience in it, so she sold her property. The last owner of the manor was Hungarian Czehy and his son. However, they hated each other and in some misunderstanding the father shot himself. Young Czehy had the manor and other buildings repaired during the Czechoslovak Republic. But then the servants had more rights and demands, it was difficult to manage, so some of the property was divided up and the rest was sold off. Nowadays the manor is privately owned.
