In June, Sabinov will once again transform into a city full of colour, movement, music and shared experiences. From 7 to 14 June, a rich programme will take place in the streets, parks, the municipal cultural centre, the cultural and information centre and sports grounds as part of the Sabinov Days 2025. This feast of culture, art and local life will be complemented by the 51st Sabinov Fair, which traditionally attracts visitors from all over the region.
On Saturday, June 7, the Sabinov Days will open with a dance gala evening REAL STREET SHOW VOL. 2, featuring the local dance group Real Street and their guests. An energetic and modern show is expected to get the audience moving. Sunday, June 8, will bring a quieter and more thoughtful tone - the park at Freedom Square will unveil the Jožek's bench, dedicated to the memory of Jozef Demko, an exceptional artist and a man who left a distinctive mark in the local Sabinov culture. The day will close with a captivating organ concert in the Church of the Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist under the artistic baton of Filip Burger and Stanky Cvancigerova, entitled 2160 + 1 whistle will remind you of the beauty of classical music. Monday 9 June will invite visitors to the foyer of the town's cultural centre, where a thematic exhibition will be open Three pillars of infrastructure in Sabinov: sawmill, mill, power plant. The evening will belong to the young talents from the elementary art school, who will perform in a programme entitled Future (?) personalities of Sabinov - art works, recitations and music will show that we do not have to worry about the future of culture in the city. There will be a moderated artistic evening connected with the evaluation of the 9th year of the international art competition „CSONTVÁRY'S THIRSTY BOOTS“ - the opening of the pupils' works. The programme will feature performances by former and current laureates and prizewinners of the Sabinovsky author and reciter May, small reciters of the Sabinovsky ČIM - ČIM town show and singers of the Sabinovsky nightingale. On Tuesday, 10 June, the exhibition will open its doors Costumes in motion artist Aneta Lattova, who combines traditional folk motifs with modern artistic expression. The exhibition will be open at the Na korze Cultural Centre until the end of July. Wednesday 11 June will be a sports day - schoolchildren from all over the city join in a day of games and exercise. The evening will be festive - in the cinema hall of MsKS will take place Gala evening with the awarding of the City Prize and the Mayor's Prize, where exceptional personalities of the city will receive honours for their work and contribution to our city. On Thursday 12th June, the city will open its doors Cultural-Information Centre under Open Day - Visitors will be able to mint a commemorative coin and see the spaces where the cultural life of Sabinov is created. In the Library B. N. Nezabudov, a book launch ceremony will also take place What's left of us, written by a young Sabinov author Laura Fechová. Finally, on Saturday 14 June, the main stage will be held art bazaar, where craftsmen from the region will present their products. Tennis enthusiasts will compete in the popular Fair Doubles on local courts. Alongside all this, from Thursday 12 June there will also be 51st Sabinov Fair - one of the largest social and cultural events in the region. The streets of the town will be filled with stalls, the smells of traditional food, music and the laughter of children.
The programme of the fair is rich and varied. On Thursday, the fair will open with a ceremony and a performance by the TEDASKY majorettes, later the town's schools and musical ensembles will perform. The big stage will also present a music and dance „wave“ of pupils and teachers of the Primary Art School Sabinov in various rhythms and genres with called On the waves of the ZUŠ-ky. Dulcimer music will play in the evening for dancing and singing Primate.
On Friday folklore groups in the band „ On the yurmak in Sobinovo“ will showcase the beauty of traditional music and dances of the group FSk Michaľančan and FSk Jazero, SS Jonatanka a raffle will be drawn and the evening will belong to local folklore groups - DFS Sabiník, FS Sabinovčan, FS Sabinovčan - endurance. After them, the evening will be devoted to folk songs in unconventional arrangements performed by The folk band project and the finale will belong to the favourite band DESMOD, which will bring a good dose of relaxing energy.
Saturday morning on 14 June will be focused on children - popular mascots from Labk's patrols, entertainer Maroš Kamoš and the 4th theatre marathon will not be missing either „Where there was there was in Sabinov“ performed by the youngest performers from the kindergarten in Sabinov. The evening will culminate with concerts of groups Rock Band Tribute, Something Extra, rappers KALI-m and the legendary band OTHER CAFES.
