Prešov Beer Festival has been a part of the Prešov summer for 12 years, which will be in full swing from 21 July to 14 August in the Equestrian Complex in Prešov.
The beer festival thus becomes a meeting place for friends and acquaintances not only from Slovakia. Fans of the golden beverage brings approximately 100 beers every year. This year the festival will last 25 daysduring which visitors will be able to taste a wide range of beers, including several specialty beers, craft beers, flavoured ciders and non-alcoholic beers for all ages. There will be not only domestic production, but also beers from Bohemia and Moravia, Germany and England. There will be miss beer Koňar, which for the third year has been cooked by the festival organizer Artúr Benes. It can be tasted in three versions, namely Koňar light 10°, Koňar lager light 12° and special Koňar Porter Strawberry 14°.
For the third year, visitors enjoy a cashless payment system where they charge a chip on entry for the amount you have chosen. Throughout the Beer Festival area, patrons pay for beer, food and snacks by simply attaching a chip (on a wristband) to a mobile device that each tap and booth vendor has.
Chill out zone every Thursday will be a new feature of the Beer Festival, where there will be plenty of tuli bags to relax and where a special programme is prepared especially for the young. After last year's success, the beer game Man Don't Be Angry will be repeated, a live Barberia show will be performed and a DJ will provide musical entertainment. The absolute novelty of the festival is the tournament of 2-person teams in Beer Pong.
This year's edition also brings a series of three fun and knowledge quizzes. Wednesdays will be dedicated to the popular PubQuiz. During the festival there will be a cinema screening, the Eastern Slovakia Championship in hand-pressing, or a Latino evening with a dance school, where you can learn a few dance steps.
This year, people had the opportunity to vote via social media to decide on the star they wanted to see and hear at the summer festival. The audience votes decided with the choice of the main headliner, namely the band Hokryže Slíže. Besides them, the bands Peter Bič Projekt, Duchoňovci, the band On Off, Muzika z Viceža, Otto Weiter and Petra Maxin, the revival bands GeRock Kabát, Bon Jovi, Beatles Band and others will perform. The band Basawell will christen their new CD on this occasion.
The whole festival is situated in a natural environment right in the centre of the residential area of Prešov. It offers visitors parking capacities directly in front of the entrance to the festival area.
