On Sunday, 12 April 2026, another continuation of the popular Discovering Prešov event took place, which this time took visitors to the premises of the Regional Gallery in Prešov. Participants had a unique opportunity to get to know the story of the gallery and art up close, or to get a glimpse into the world of art in one of the most important cultural points of the city of Prešov.
The event attracted culture lovers, families with children and curious visitors who wanted to discover something new. The Regional Gallery offered a space to slow down, take in the details and reflect on the history and story of this building. Visitors had the opportunity to walk through unique townhouse spaces with their own history, medieval cellars, authentic courtyards and modern presentation rooms.
The atmosphere of the event was complemented by the calm energy of the gallery, which provided an ideal environment for a break from the everyday hustle and bustle. Participants appreciated not only the exhibitions themselves, but also the opportunity to spend time in a cultural and meaningful way. The new exhibition of restored works by Ľudovít Feld and Orest Dubay was an advantage, and the temporary exhibitions Situations III and Memento by Andrej Mrúz were also open to the curious for a symbolic fee.
Project Discovering Prešov has long been presenting a series of thematic excursions and guided tours that introduce interesting places in the city and its surroundings. The April edition confirmed that cultural institutions have their own charm and can appeal to a wide audience.
Future iterations of the event promise new locations, new stories and new experiences - just go exploring.
