The Regional Tourism Organization (hereinafter referred to as "OOCR") Region Šariš in cooperation with OOCR Horný Zemplín prepared a unique Fam trip for Slovak tour operators and influencers, aimed at exploring the TOP destinations of the Šariš and Upper Zemplín region. This two-day adventure program was packed with history, culture and unique attractions that showed the participants the richness and beauty of Eastern Slovakia.
After a hearty lunch in Tavern under the Castle our way led to STM - Solivar Museum, where the participants learn more about the history of salt mining and processing. After moving to the centre of Prešov to the Main Street, they could enjoy a guided tour of the city, with the participation of a guide Andrey Sivanic, including a visit St. Nicholas Cathedral a Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Prešov. The first day of the info tour ended with a guided tour in Wine Museum, accompanied by a short wine tasting followed by a delicious 4-course dinner in the restaurant Via Magna.
In the afternoon we moved to the village of Horný Zemplín Poplar, where a demonstration of traditional crafts awaited us. Participants could try baking bread in a clay oven, making thatched roofs, traditional ceramics and taste tartar pierogi. In the evening we visited Grandfather Evening Star's house v New Sedlec a Museum of the school in Zboj, where we recalled the history of local education. We ended the day by observing the night sky in the local Astronomical Observatory at Kolonický sedlo.
Day 1: Discovering the history and culture of Šariš
On Friday we moved together to Veľký Šariš, where we followed the traces of history to Šariš Castle, which is one of the largest castles in Slovakia. Participants had the opportunity to get a glimpse into the history through the exhibition, accompanied by a guided tour. Among other things, they could also try archery. On the way we could not miss a visit to the famous Brewery Šariš, where the guide introduced us to the fascinating process of beer production. Afterwards, we also had the opportunity to taste different types of beer and evaluate its quality.

Day 2: Treasures of Upper Zemplín and UNESCO
On Saturday morning we went to the unique Slovak opal mines in Dubník, where participants could see the rare opal in its natural environment. Then we visited UNESCO wooden churches in Hervartov, Bodružal and Ladomírova, while we also stopped in Death Valley, where we listened to a lecture about the KDO (Carpatho-Dukla Operation).
