Do you love photography and like to discover the beautiful places around you? Join 14th edition of the photo competition Go and take pictures 2026 and show how you perceive the Prešov region through your lens!
This competition is open to amateurs and experienced photographers alike and gives you the opportunity to capture exceptional places, people, culture, nature or the atmosphere of our region. The best images will be awarded and presented to the public - not only at the award ceremony, but also at the travelling exhibition.
Jury and prizes
Your shots will be decided by an expert jury headed by a renowned photographer Jano Štovka MQEP. In addition to the main prize - quality hiking boots from the BOSP brand - other interesting prizes may be awarded.
New in 2026 is also the aim to reward young talents: there is a special category for children up to 15 years of age Children take photos, to which entries can be submitted by their legal representatives.
In addition, a special prize will also be selected by Museum of Joseph Maximilian Petzval in Spišská Bela, named after a renowned photographer and optician, and determine your favourite.
How to get involved
The competition lasts until 11 October 2026, so you have plenty of time to go out and capture the beauty of the Prešov region.
You can compete in one of 7 categories, for example:
- landscape photography
- fauna and flora
- Architecture
- traditions and history
- man and region
- experiences and leisure
- children take photos
Each author may submit a maximum of 7 photos, each image must belong to a separate category.

Enter via the online form on the competition website, upload your photos and confirm your acceptance of the rules. Don't forget - images must be taken on the territory Prešov Region and must be original (without generative AI modification).
