The town of Veľký Šariš brings a unique experience to visitors of the Archeopark - virtual tour of the area in the Sharis dialect. It is the first project of its kind in Slovakia that combines modern technology with the cultural heritage of the city and the region.
The Šariš dialect is an integral part of the identity of the region and has been around for centuries. Thanks to this novelty, visitors will experience it directly during an individual tour and hear the history as it was once told by our ancestors.
The virtual guide presents the history of life under Šariš Castle - the everyday life of the medieval inhabitants, their work, crafts and the language that is still used today.
The voice of the virtual guide was lent by the actor KĽUD Theatre, Jozef Jenčo, who accepted the offer to join the project without hesitation. He recorded the entire content and „gave it a Shariš soul“, which makes the show even more authentic and emotional.
„The Šariš dialect is not just a language, it is our identity that connects generations and preserves the stories of our ancestors. „We are the first town in Slovakia to introduce a virtual guide in Shariš and we are rightly proud of it. We believe that this novelty will make a visit to the Archaeopark an unforgettable experience. All the more so because it is the language of our region, our identity. And it is no coincidence that the name Šariš bears the castle, the region and the name of our town,“ emphasized the mayor of Veľký Šariš JUDr. Viliam Kall.
„The virtual guide in the Archaeopark is now part of the Archaeopark. Just download the app, scan the QR code at the entrance gate and let yourself be carried away into history in the singing Shariština. And for those who prefer the written language, there is also a Slovak version,“ emphasizes Jana Jačišinová, head of the tourism department of the town of Veľký Šariš.
The project Virtual Guide in Sharistina could only come into being thanks to the financial support of Community Foundation Veľký Šariš and Plzeňský Prazdroj Slovensko - Pivovar Šariš. These partners of the town have decided to stand by the people and the community in which the Šariš Brewery operates, and at the same time to support the preservation of the unique cultural heritage that the Šariš region has carried for centuries. Thanks to them, the history in the Archaeopark can speak the language of our ancestors and bring visitors a unique Šariš experience.“.
The novelty is made available directly in the Archeopark Veľký Šariš through a QR code, which visitors will find at the entrance to the complex and which will lead them to the tour in the Šariština.
