Event Experience castles in a different way product range Šariš Castle Route is moving on to its second stop and will take us on a journey through history Kapušany Castle. We will explore its hidden corners, learn about the tradition of leather goods production, and also discover the philosophy and practice of beekeeping.
Kapušany Castle will become the setting for an adventure trip, during which It combines history with beautiful views, traditional crafts, nature and local flavours. The event will take place on Sunday 19 July 2026 at 9.00 am starting at the official car park below Kapušany Castle.
Participants can look forward to a guided walk up to the castle, during which the guide will highlight points of interest along the route and at the site itself. The programme will also include a short detour to a Slavic hillfort and a tour of Kapušany Castle and a climb up to the observation tower, from where visitors can enjoy impressive views of the surrounding countryside.
A varied programme of events will be organised at the castle. Visitors will be able to try their hand at archery, take part in a leather-craft workshop, watch demonstrations of wind instruments and enjoy refreshments with a cup of coffee or lemonade at the castle. There will also be a barbecue area; please bring whatever you’d like to grill.
A particular highlight will be the augmented reality experience featuring the castle’s historical figures, which will give visitors an insight into the past Kapušiansky Castle in a modern and interactive way. The programme will culminate in a meeting with a beekeeper, a honey tasting and an insight into the fascinating life of bees.
The route is easy, covering approximately 6 kilometres and follows the marked green hiking trail and the Bohatier Nature Trail from Maglovec. We recommend that participants wear sturdy footwear, suitable clothing and drink plenty of fluids.
