Šariš region became part of the filming of the TV show Secrets of Slovakia, which brings viewers a glimpse of the most beautiful natural, historical and cultural treasures of Slovakia.
The TA3 TV crew visited several important locations and brought a lot of inspiration for trips and holidays.
One of the main stops was Šariš Castle, one of the largest medieval castle complexes in Slovakia.
Before the TV crew went to the castle, they also visited the nooks and crannies Archaeopark, which brings visitors closer to the life of a farmer and a peasant in the past.
In addition to the magnificent views and historical interpretation, the crew also tried archery and authentic medieval-style dining right in the castle tower. Donjon.
The TV crew also visited the city Sabinov, which is famous for the exterior shots of the Oscar-winning film Shop on the Corniche. The legacy of this legendary work is commemorated by an exhibition in the Cultural-Information Centre, where visitors can see original props and photos from the shoot.
Bardejov Spa became the next stop of the crew that maps the exceptional places of Slovakia. This historic spa, considered one of the oldest and most famous in the country, offers a wide range of relaxing and therapeutic treatments. Their unique atmosphere was enjoyed in the past by Empress Sissi, who was one of the most important guests of this spa complex.
During the visit, the crew had the opportunity to capture a unique genius loci of this place and get acquainted with its rich history and current offer for visitors.
He also could not bypass the oldest wooden church in Slovakia - Church of St. Francis of Assisi in the village of Hervartov, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The cultural experience was complemented by the performance of a folklore ensemble Sharishan, which brings the authentic atmosphere of Slovak folklore with its dances and singing.
The historical value of the region was also highlighted by the visit Solivar Museum in Prešov, where salt was once mined and processed. The TV crew also visited the town Lipany, where there is a 320-year-old small-leaved lime tree, a symbol of the rich history of the region.
