To promote imagination, and especially to promote tourism , Regional Tourist Organisation of the Szarysz Region continues to promote the uniqueness of its region."Our aim is highlighting the beauty of the castles, palaces and manor houses in the region Saris, connection of individual objects, increase their visitor numbers and keep tourists in the region for as long as possible" - said Branislav Švorc, Executive Director of OOCR Región Šariš. In this context, OOCR Región Šariš is launching new project tourism, which will also be implemented in cooperation with the regional tourism organisation of North-Eastern Slovakia. This project will connect all interesting places (castles, palaces, manors, kuron) and will be presented under one name - Trail of the Sharis castles. The project will also be recognizable thanks to the original logo, created by a graphic designer and visual communication guru Svetozár Šomšák.

The sixteen pages of the brochure will guide you through ten of the most famous castles, which are also known for their attributes. For example, the second largest Šariš castle, the most diverse Soľnohrad, the most striking Kapušian castle, the most charming Obišovský castle, the smallest Lipovský castle, the mysterious Plaveč castle or the stone castle Zborov or the rediscovered Šebeš castle.

The booklet about castles in the Presov area is only the first swallow. The next step will be its virtual form - Created by portal www.sarisskahradnacesta.sk, and later also a separate mobile application. These online tools will also contain information about other castles that didn't fit in the brochure, as well as castles that have disappeared, history, the present, and rumours and facts you didn't even know about. The ambition of the Región Šariš regional tourism organisation project is concept mix Šariš Castle Route with other monuments such as mansions, castles, curiosities or urban fortifications. In the Šariš region there are over fifty-five. By combining them, you will have a comprehensive idea and the opportunity to explore several monuments a day, to learn about their history and owners or to take part in various events, from the opening of the summer season, castle games to various multi-species festivals. The first castle brochure of the project "Trail of castles in Šariš" was published with the support of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic in order to promote visiting castles in Šariš.
