Authors and literary enthusiasts will meet again in the metropolis of Šariš after a year. The seventeenth annual reading festival is organized by the P. O. Hviezdoslav in Prešov. Three festival days Prešov reíta rád, promise a packed programme full of domestic and foreign guests, which will take place on 21-23 September 2022.
Arpád Soltész, bestselling author of crime novels from the 1990s, will be presenting his latest novel, The Thief, alongside his well-known titles at the 17th annual Prešov reads like festival. Based on the bestselling book of the same name by the writer Arpad Soltész, the film Swine was directed by the young director and scriptwriter Mariana Čengel Solčanská. Discussion with the authors will be 21 September at 17:30 at the Regional Document Centre.
In the morning, individual guests will meet with pupils from primary and secondary schools, as well as grammar schools in Prešov. During the second literary festival day (22 September), can not miss nor Literary talkshow, which will be moderated by Zuzana Belková and Dado Nagy. From 18:00 at the Kmet's Tree Garden will bring together well-known authors not only from Slovakia but also from the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
In the programme you can look forward to the author of children's books and lecturer of Slovak for foreigners, Andrea Gregusa. He is also behind the creation of the musical group FidliCanti. Undoubtedly one of the most interesting personalities of contemporary Slovak culture is the director, screenwriter and writer Mariana Čengel Solčanská, who is the author of several historical novels and major motion pictures. Writer Vanda Rozenbergová, besides writing, she has tried several professions. From a grammar school teacher, through a worker in a betting office, to a bibliographer in the Hornonitrian Library in Prievidza. She is also an award-winning writer, director and a significant part of the Czechoslovak cultural space, Jana Micenkova. A well-known writer will visit Prešov Pavel Rankov, a native of Poprad, who graduated in book science at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Bratislava. He currently works at the Department of Library and Information Science. Successful author of children's books Tonia Revajová, is very active and although retired, she is still working and editing children's books for publishers and translating series from German and Czech. The author of fantasy literature will also come again Natalja Ščerba. The popular young Russian author became famous for her series Chasodei and Chharodol. Writer and translator, popular author of young adult literature Kristína Ježovičová, does not shy away from controversial and sensitive topics that often divide society. From the Czech Republic will come George Walker Walk, who is a writer, lecturer and screenwriter. He also lectures on literature, conducts literary workshops for children, students, adults, teachers and librarians. In her research, she connects the problems of contemporary art and culture with theory and philosophy, author and philosopher of art Ivana Komanická. He is particularly interested in ethical issues. Another guest of the Prešov reads like festival will be also on this day Arpád Soltész. The last guest is a poet and translator Eva Luka. In the microworlds of her poetry, various strange creatures, creatures and creatures, partly human, but mostly animal, come to life. It is the emphasis on human animality that is the subject of many of the poems.
The musical guest will be a singer, composer and pianist from Košice, SKYVA.
The last day of the festival will end with an evening Fantastique PO From 6 p.m. at Libresso Books & Coffee, where there will be a discussion with authors of fantasy and sci-fi genres Natalja Ščerba and Jiří Walker Procházka.
