PREŠOV (12. 6. 2025) - The LEGENDARIUM entertainment and cognitive summer competition is celebrating its first big anniversary. The project, which has been motivating children and their families to discover the beauty of the Prešov region for 10 years, is launching a new year. LEGENDARIUM 2025 will kick off on 14 June and run until 14 September 2025.
Behind the Legendarium project every year Regional Tourism Organisation North-East of Slovakia. Legendarium attractively promotes tourism in the Prešov region. It offers varied tips for excursions, that embellish the stories of local legends. During the holidays, children not only get to know nature and interesting places, but also become part of an exciting adventure. The project is implemented by the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia from the membership contribution of the Prešov Self-Governing Region and with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
„Legendarium has become an essential part of summer in the Prešov region. In ten years, a generation of children has grown up with it, thousands of families have travelled with the legends. We are pleased that people's interest in exploring our region grows every year. We promote the use of diverse services and the visitation of dozens of tourism facilities.,“ said Martin Janoško, director of KOCR Northeast of Slovakia. In addition to domestic tourists, the organisers also want to reach the Polish border region, so the materials were published in Polish and distributed in Poland.
News of the 10th edition
This year brings the project Legendarium mobile app, which serves as the main guide at all excursion sites. In the app, children collect points by scanning QR codes on the competition sites. The app is freely available for download. It also offers navigation, maps and stories of legendary heroes.
Children can already use the app during the competition get rewards v three point thresholds, which they can pick up at dispensing points in the county. At the end there is a big draw for interesting prizes for the whole family.
Adventures and experiences around the region
Families with children can look forward to a varied combination of outdoor excursions and experiences in various facilities during the competition. There are 16 trips in nature, where children earn points and themed stickers for each visit. In addition, there are more than 80 experience places, including castles, museums, open-air museums, swimming pools, sports grounds and interactive galleries. In the participating establishments, children will receive LEGENDARIUM booklets with stories of legends, excursions and places to write about the excursions with their admission fee.
In addition, they can earn bonus points for visiting selected restaurants and accommodation facilities.
What can families with children experience?

Locations that attract
The project is represented by the whole Prešov region. Bardejov and its surroundings are accompanied by the knight Roland, who takes the children to the Polish-Slovak border to the lookout on the Javorina hill. In the Poloniny Mountains, the new lookout tower above the village of Zboj is one of the selected sites. Legendarists can also discover the nature trail in Spišská Magura near the village of Spišské Hanušovce, the mysterious cave above Litmanová or the Dunitova rock near Prešov. The Shepherd of Čergov will take them to Hanigov Castle and the Soldier Vasil to the Bench of Love in the small village of Kobylnice in the Svidník district.
Experiential exploration will bring for example the Máša train in Zemplínské Hámry, new facilities include the Synagogue in Prešov, restored expositions in the House of the townsman of Ľubovňa in Stará Ľubovna, mountain tricycles in Vernár or the Warhol Memorial Room in Miková.
