Did you know that the strawberry is a symbol with which the city has been associated since the 12th century? The first hints come from the legend of King Bel II, who named the town after the strawberries that grew on the territory of today's town. Later they were incorporated in historical seals and coats of arms. A fresh, unique, modern and strawberry town. This is also how you can know the metropolis of Šariš, the city of Prešov.
Promoting city life and tourism
The Strawberry City Prešov is an independent initiative whose aim is to promote life and tourism in the city of Prešov and to distinguish it from other cities in Slovakia and in the world. In the Strawberry City, everyone has plenty of opportunities to spend their time to the full. It brings energy, fun, taste and joy to the city. It was the Strawberry Night event that convinced and enchanted hundreds of visitors. The iconic Florianova Street is changing beyond recognition. A night that all visitors enjoy and can compete with other international events. The culmination of Strawberry Night 2023 was a mapping that told the story of Prešov and its connection with strawberries. Another initiative that has come out of Strawberry Town is to educate locals about interesting facts about the town, the personalities associated with the town, or historical events and other nooks and crannies of several buildings. Several dozen curious locals attended the tours with questions answered and guided by the well-known city guide, Ms. Sivanic.

Already, well-known entertainer and influencer Domi Haly has discovered Strawberry Town, having purchased Strawberry Truffles and a unique, limited-edition Strawberry Shortcake.
