PREŠOV, 2 July 2025 AUTO Kinočák Prešov is back. The venue of the summer movie evenings will be the parking lot in front of the Municipal Sports Hall in Prešov (Tatran Handball Arena). Screenings are scheduled during selected weeks in the months of July to September 2025. This year's novelty is that all film titles will be available for visitors to enjoy only for a voluntary contribution.
Long summer and crisp September evenings full of unique cinematic experiences under the starry sky, accompanied by suspense, fun and fear. That's what this year's summer drive-in offering is all about, which comes to the metropolis of Šariš with a range of themed film evenings. It will be screened during selected weeks in the months of July, August and September 2025, always from 21:00, in the large parking lot on Ján Paul II Street in Prešov. Comfortable loungers will be prepared for non-motorized visitors this year as well.
July Triple Portion of Films will offer visitors fast machines, adrenaline and petrol culture. The speedometer needles will be in full swing 23.7. (Fast and Furious 5), 24.7. (Bikers) and 25.7. (Taxi 5).
August film menu will be full of fun and will bring a relaxed atmosphere to the visitors. Laughter will be heard from the parking lot of the town hall 20.8. (Grand Prix), 21.8. (Vyšehrad Dvje) and 22.8. (She arrived at night).
September's film extravaganza will be truly horrific. Fear will be in the air and all the windows on the cars will be rolled down 18.9. (Trapped), 19.9. (Souls of the Damned), 20.9. (Heretic).
„This year we have bet on three popular film genres, which we have divided thematically within three months, during which we will screen a total of 9 films. As we are a car cinema, we have focused mainly on films about cars, which will dominate the month of July, but will also appear in August and September,“ said the organizer of AUTO Kinočák Prešov Peter Vlkovič.
This year's novelty is that visitors will not pay a single admission fee, while the organizers will offer all films for a voluntary contribution. The aim is to support up-and-coming filmmakers, for whom the proceeds from each screening will go. Budding filmmakers will be able to apply for a grant call at the end of autumn 2025, where they will be able to apply for financial support to prepare scripts or make short documentaries.
„Young, emerging filmmakers who want to make their first film have very limited possibilities to support funding for their projects, as the FPU does not support audiovisual projects and the AVF does not have emerging film enthusiasts included in its grant schemes,“ Vlkovič added.
