Prešov in the days of 9 - 15 October 2025 will become the city of film. For the sixteenth time it will take place Feelings Film Festival, which will bring current domestic and foreign films, screenings for children, discussions and meetings with filmmakers.
The festival will open on the evening of 9 October with a pair of films: the debated A great patriotic trip accompanied by a delegation with the director Robin Kvapil and award-winning document Better to go mad in the wilderness, which will be personally presented by its director Miro Remo.
„We are really looking forward to this year's festival - we have prepared great films, meetings with filmmakers and screenings for all ages. We believe that the audience will take away strong experiences and inspiration,“ said the artistic director of the festival Nina Šilanová. Other filmmakers will also come to Prešov to present their films directly to the audience. “Slovak film Father directed by Tereza Nvotová will be presented by the screenwriter Dusan Budzak, document The sky is above, I am in the valley shall personally state Katarína Gramatová, film La dolce morte will be presented by the director Róbert Slovák and the image Dvoika OUCE Director Peter Pavlik,” said Šilanová.
Notable festival titles include the winners of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival - Spanish Sirat, which shocked audiences and, in addition to the Jury Prize, earned the reputation as the festival's most original film with cult potential, and German Oscar nominee Looking into the sun. The festival will also include award-winning British drama Bird or the exclusive Slovak preview of the British film The way of life starring Gillian Anderson. A special event will also be a screening of Wim Wenders' cult film Sky over Berlin, which will take place on 13 October as part of a tribute to the legendary German director.
The festival also has children in mind - there are family screenings such as Hooray for adventure on the premises of P.O. Hviezdoslav Regional Library or Tales from the magic garden, which will be screened in Wave Centre of Independent Culture. Traditionally, there will be a competition of short films Feelings in shorts nor section Feelings of neighbours dedicated to Polish cinematography, where the audience can look forward to Agnieszka Holland's new film Franz or marital drama This is not my film. A new feature will also be inclusive screening Spanish film Can you hear me?. An exceptional and sensitive film that uses a precise script to open up the world of the deaf to the audience will be screened with descriptive subtitles, making it suitable for deaf audiences
The final evening (15 October) will bring an extraordinary combination of film and music with a screening of an avant-garde film The mussel and the priest with musical accompaniment by Martin Husovsky in Regional Library.
The Festival of Feelings is made possible thanks to the support of partners. For the second year, its main partner is the Prešov company Fecupral. „We want this cooperation not to remain only on the level of financial support, but to really contribute to a positive change in our surroundings,“ said Lucia Ňachajová, a representative of the company.
