The Regional Museum in Prešov joins the National Marriage Week: discounted admission and thematic Tea at Five

The Regional Museum in Prešov will participate in the National Marriage Week again in 2026
(NTM), a global campaign to promote marriage that has been running in Slovakia since 2011 in
the week around Valentine's Day. Its aim is to encourage people to build and develop
marital relationships and to remind them that a happy marriage is a value worth caring for.

On this occasion, the Regional Museum will be offering the National Marriage Week in
all its branches with a discounted admission of 1+1 free of charge, thus inviting spouses and couples
to spend time together in an environment of culture, history and art.

The programme will also include a special edition of the popular series Tea at Five at Rákoci's, which will
will take place on 10 February 2026 at 17:00 at Hlavná 139 in Prešov. The event is called
Marriage in the collections of the Regional Museum: portraits of the Bujanovics and is dedicated to
to the married couple Šándor and Hermina Bujanovics.

The lecture will introduce the personality of Šándor Bujanovics - now almost forgotten politician and landowner,
as well as the fate of their family through portraits from the collections of the Regional Museum. It will also present
the work of the Hungarian painter Sándor Endrey (1867-1940), the author of both portraits. Special
attention will be paid to the restoration survey and the process of restoration of the works, from the initial
research to their final form.

The event is open to the general public and admission to the lecture is free.
