The great holiday opal hunt for little adventurers
During the spring holidays, the opal mines are preparing a special programme for young adventurers - holiday search for opals.
What will the children experience ?
Children will go into the depths of the world's oldest opal mines, where they will learn about the underground passages, listen to the stories of the old miners and become little explorers themselves. They will search for precious opal and each participant will get the chance to find their own „treasure“ to take home.
The organizers will take care of the helmet, you should bring your children lamps, flashlights, some hammers or hoes or rakes.
Dates according to holidays:
- Western Slovakia: 16. 2., 18. 2., 20. 2.
- Central Slovakia: 23. 2., 25. 2., 27. 2.
- Eastern Slovakia: 2. 3., 4. 3., 6. 3.
Entry is always at 10:30 am.
Practical information:
- temperature in the mine: approx. 4 - 6 °C
- duration: approximately 60 minutes
- suitable for children from 4 years of age (accompanied by an adult)
- warm clothing and sturdy waterproof shoes are required
