Relationships, love, art and a few (un)fortunate characters at the end of the world.
The siblings Váňa and Soňa have spent their whole lives in seclusion. Whilst they were preoccupied with caring for their ailing parents and their own bitterness, their sister Máša travelled the world as a successful actress. One day, Máša returns, her star quality adding a touch of glamour to the local fancy dress ball. She arrives with a much younger lover, an overzealous assistant and plans that no one saw coming. The family will truly have to drop their masks. Thank goodness there’s the strange cleaner Kasandra and her prophecies of a terrifying future. Which of them will actually come true? Are bad endings really that bad?
Christopher Durang and his internationally acclaimed comedy, in which he has skilfully blended the best of Chekhov.
