Throughout the year 2024, Pavol Hammel and his band Prúdy commemorated 60 years since the beginning of their activity on the music scene. However, this does not mean that this living legend, singer and musician was just reminiscing - on the contrary, in November 2024 he released his twenty-sixth album Where and What For.
After his previous recording Heart Without an Angel from 2020, which was characterized mainly by acoustic concept, this time Pavol Hammel decided for a rockier sound. The authorial, musical and sonic diversity of the album's new release Where and for What meets in Pavel Hammel's interpretation in a way that, despite the long and faithful knowledge of his high artistic qualities, still manages to pleasantly surprise. His distinctive songwriting once again delivers traditional Hammel songwriting with a strong statement.
In the few months since its release, the album has been warmly received by fans and critics alike. Its uniqueness is also confirmed by its nomination in the final three for the best Slovak album in the prestigious Czech music awards Anděl, which have been awarded by the Czech Music Academy for over thirty years.
With a brand new concert programme, during which the full-length album novelty will be performed, Pavol Hammel will also meet on stage with the exceptional concert line-up Band in Blue, consisting of five guitarists - Juraj Burian, Rene Lacko, Pišt Lengyel, Stan Počaji and Peci Uherčík, who will be accompanied by keyboard player Peter Preložník, bass guitarist Anton “Toník” Jaro, drummer Igor “Teo” Skovay, saxophonist Milo Suchomel and singer Andrea Zimányiová.
