Symbióza Festival 2026 It will also feature some interesting discussions. On Friday, we’ll be looking at the topic: How are social media changing the minds and behaviour of young people?
When? 25 September 2026 (Friday) at 6.00 pm
Where? Christiania, Prešov
They live in a virtual world, but the consequences are all too real. Endless scrolling, the hunt for ‘likes’, tailor-made algorithms and the ever-present pressure to be perfect. How is the digital age shaping the mental health, self-esteem and behaviour of today’s young people? Where does innocent fun end, and where do anxiety, addiction or radicalisation begin?
Presenter and journalist Samo Marec will examine, alongside three respected experts, a phenomenon that is fundamentally changing the dynamics of adolescence. The following accepted the invitation: Vlado Šnídl, a journalist and analyst who has long been uncovering the workings of the digital world, disinformation and the influence of social media on the younger generation; a documentary-maker and creator of educational projects Diana Fabiánová, which explores themes relating to relationships, adolescence and the psychological world of teenagers, and Miroslava Takáčová, a psychologist and therapist at Chuť žiť, who works daily to help young people with eating disorders and body image issues, which often stem precisely from the toxic pressure on social media.
You can look forward to a discussion packed with facts, real-life experiences and a search for answers as to how we can help young people not to lose their way in the world behind the screen.
