The P. O. Hviezdoslav Regional Library in Prešov, in collaboration with the DeafStudio charity, invites the public to Deaf Festival – Cultural Dialogue Beyond the Boundaries of Hearing, which creates a space for people to come together, foster mutual understanding and gain a deeper insight into the culture of the Deaf community.
When? 22 September 2026 (Tuesday) – 24 September 2026 (Thursday), from 9.00 am to 11.00 am

The festival will showcase the history of sign language, the experiences of deaf people and the various aspects of their culture. Visitors will be able to gain an insight into a world where communication need not be based solely on the spoken word, and to learn about the importance of sign language for communication, identity and the Deaf community. The programme will also include a presentation of Deaf culture through the arts, literature, theatre, film and community traditions. The festival will also provide a space for sharing experiences and ideas that can enrich our understanding of communication and the world around us.
