In July, we will go in search of treasures that are literally around the corner - and yet many people don't even know about them. We will discover the magic of Župčany, a village with a rich history, ancient monuments and a peaceful atmosphere that takes us back in time. We will get to know the late Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with Baroque modifications, we will stop by the rectory and the grave of Jonáš Záborský, we will visit the local curacy from the Classical period with a beautiful park with rare trees and we will walk through the local natural gem - the linden avenue.
We will meet on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in front of the Municipal Office in Župčany. The SAD bus direction Kojatice departs from Prešov at 15:30 and arrives at the bus stop Župčany, centre at 15:46.
The tour will last until approximately 17:30 - to catch the bus back to Prešov, which leaves from the Župčany, crossroads stop at 17:55, 18:13 and 18:17
Erik ONDRIA, historian and co-author of the publication Wanderings of Župčany, will accompany the event.
