In October, we will explore the history of the P. O. Hviezdoslav Regional Library in Prešov, which has been serving its readers for 100 years. We will see the first, but also the later seats of the library from the town hall, through the Black Eagle, the Regional Court, the College, the Municipal School to the Bosák Bank. We will tell how not only its appearance but also its names changed from the People's Library, through the District Library to the Regional Library, how people used to go to the library and what the membership was like, or who was responsible for its development. We will end our journey in the new library headquarters with the possibility of a tour for a symbolic surcharge of 1,- €.
You can get to know the centenary story of the Prešov library on Sunday October 19, 2025 at 2 p.m.*. We will meet in front of the Tourist Information Centre in Prešov on Hlavna 67. Andrea Sivaničová will accompany us.
