In the rich history of Prešov we can find more than one event with the attribute of the first, the first, the first, not only within our local history, but also beyond its borders. Do you know the first written mention of the city or its first coat of arms? Where was the first church, the first school, the first power station, the first fountain, the first inn, the first café, wine bar or cinema? Did you know that the first defence of the evangelical faith and the first attempt at an evangelical university took place in Prešov? That the first sugar was produced here, the first vaccination was given here and the first weather was measured here? The first Freemasonic lodge and the first light-printing press in Hungary were founded in Prešov. The first Jewish museum and the first folk observatory in Czechoslovakia. The first football match was played here and the first post-embassy Miss and the first Superstar came from here.
