The P. O. Hviezdoslav Regional Library in Prešov, in collaboration with the Abraham Centre, invites the public to a commemorative event Unforgettable neighboursand which forms part of a nationwide initiative to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and collective violence.

The ‘Unforgotten Neighbours’ event is now in its sixth year and takes place simultaneously in dozens of towns and villages across Slovakia. The aim of the event is not to forget the crimes of the past, but also to highlight the power of humanity, which was able to save lives, and to draw attention to contemporary forms of intolerance. In Slovakia, 9 September has been designated as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust and Racial Violence.
The event will also include a tribute to the rescuers – people who, despite risking their own lives, helped to save the lives of others, and whose legacy remains an inspiration to us today.
