Rusk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves<\/b>\u00a0is a village in Slovakia in the Pre\u0161ov district. It is located 1 kilometre east of Pre\u0161ov, the third largest city in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201eThe oldest unambiguous evidence of settled Vlachs in \u0160ari\u0161sk\u00e1 stolici dates back to 1402. At that time, the landowners of Koko\u0161ovce protested against the \u0160o\u0161 family, who allegedly settled the Wallachians in the Koko\u0161ovce district, while a flock of Wallachian sheep, undoubtedly from Rusk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves, grazed the grain crops in the Koko\u0161ovce district.\u201c<\/em> (Uli\u010dn\u00fd,R:History of the settlement of \u0160ari\u0161.p.470)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since the end of the 13th century, the municipality's territorial property belonged to the noble \u0160\u00f3\u0161 family, but there was no settlement there yet. The village was founded as a branch of the village of So\u013e (today's Solivar). The first reports about the inhabitants of the village date back to 1402 and 1419. We learn that some of them were Wallachians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The original name Nov\u00e1 Ves aptly expressed the fact that it was younger than the neighbouring villages. In 1419, King Sigismund ordered the representatives of the \u0160ari\u0161 See to investigate some transgressions of the serfs in this village, which showed that the local settlement existed before 1419. In documents from the 14th-15th centuries, it appears under three Hungarian names. Rusk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves is a popular destination for tourists, as there are several tourist spots. There are several tourist attractions and many tourist destinations. The Robber's Castle<\/strong>, the ruins of the castle, which overlooks the village and the city of Pre\u0161ov. Originally this castle was called So\u013enohrad. Once upon a time there were two castles under this name, six kilometres apart. The first castle stood on a hill south of Solivar and today there are no visible traces of it. The name Wyfal was parallel to the Slovak name Nov\u00e1 Ves. Alsowyfalu, Felsowyfalu refers to the lower and higher part of the settlement in the 15th and early 16th centuries. The name of the village Soos Wyfalu meaning \u0160\u00f3\u0161ovsk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves, i.e. with the surname of the owner, reliably distinguishes it from the originally identical names Pe\u010dovsk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves, Chminiansk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves, Drienovsk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves from the middle of the 16th century onwards. The original name Nov\u00e1 Ves, which was translated into Hungarian by the landowners, expressed the fact that the local settlement or village was younger than the neighbouring villages located to the west in the area of today's Solivar. Nov\u00e1 Ves is not mentioned among the villages of the \u0160o\u0161 family in the 13th and 14th centuries, of which there are several reports. From this it is possible to conclude that it was founded only at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. It was probably built both by inhabitants from Solivar and by immigrants, including several Wallachian families. In 1427, the peasant households of Nov\u00e1 Ves, except for the richtar's, were taxed from the 16th port (the port as a tax unit represented the whole peasant farm, which in the 14th and 15th centuries was farmed by one, but in the 16th century by one to four peasant households), so that Nov\u00e1 Ves was a medium-sized village. In the 19th century, the Dessewffy family had property in the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
