In the park, which is adjacent to the Hertn\u00edk manor house and the church, there is a statue of St. Anthony of Padua (b. 1760). This large rococo sandstone work, created by an unknown sculptor in the second half of the 18th century, was allegedly commissioned by one of the local Forg\u00e1\u010d family as a memorial to their son Anton. The statue, including the pedestal, reaches a height of almost 4 metres. It once stood facing the manor house and was surrounded by four lime trees. In 1906 the area around the statue was planted with fir trees. In 1934 the statue was renovated and in 1993 the original was replaced by a reconstructed copy created by the academy. The sculptor Martin Kutn\u00fd, a native of Barto\u0161ovce. In 1906, the entire Hertnice estate and the manor house were sold to the Magyar F\u00f4ld company, which later sold the Hertnice forests to Jewish businessmen. They hired 150 foreign workers who lived in the forest in huts. They built a modern sawmill near the railway station at \"Stavenec\", which processed the felled trees. At the same time, the men's fields in the Hertn\u00edk shtetl were gradually bought up by the Hertn\u00edk people.
