In 1933 and 1934, Count P\u00e9chy had a set of ponds dug on the \u0160algovec brook, which were known throughout the area. The locals called them Lord's Ponds. The owner kept carp and small quantities of pike. There was also a duck pond nearby, and during socialism, poultry was kept, using the capacity of the pond.
The ponds in Uzovsk\u00e9 \u0160algov are among the most important water areas in the region of northern \u0160ari\u0161 for fauna. Their importance in terms of avifauna is known from the past. Bird species whose nearest similar breeding or stopover sites are known to be 30 km south and 70 km north of this site are found here during migration and breeding. The importance for the fauna is not created by the aquatic environment of the 11 ponds themselves but by the accompanying tree and mainly herbaceous vegetation. Aquatic macrophytes (common reed, broad-leaved bat and narrow-leaved stickleback) provide nesting opportunities. Exceptional bird species occurring on the ponds include the marsh harrier, the ashen heron, the great reed warbler. Target species on the ponds are the common swallow and common bream.
There are ten ponds on the grounds, one siltation pond for when the water is accidentally running high to catch mud or branches. There are half-hectare ponds, 40-acre ponds and the first one is over a hectare.
Every spring, the village experiences a migration of frogs, which migrate from their wintering grounds in forests and gardens to their breeding grounds, i.e. to the \u0160algovsk\u00e9 Ponds. The most mass migration takes place at the entrance to the village, where the migration route of these amphibians is crossed by a roadway. In order to avoid unnecessary deaths, the municipality erects roadblocks to transport them safely to the ponds.
