It offers views of the \u010cergov Mountains, the Levo\u010da Hills and, in good visibility, the Slansk\u00e9 Hills. Visitors can now observe these attractive views with the help of a new telescope.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8724 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.regionsaris.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2_rozhladna_Balazka_foto_mesto_lipany.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1728\" height=\"1296\" \/>\n<pre>Photo: town Lipany archive<\/pre>\nIn October 2019, the observation tower on the Bala\u017eka mountain massif (643 m above sea level) was inaugurated. The lookout tower on Bala\u017eka, made of spruce wood, is located at an altitude of 598 m above sea level and its height is 13.69 metres. It provides the most beautiful views of the whole Lipany and the surrounding mountains, which visitors can observe from the new year 2022 with a new observation telescope.\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8722 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.regionsaris.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1_titulna_-foto_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2040\" height=\"1530\" \/>\n<pre>Photo: town Lipany archive<\/pre>\n<em>\u201eThe Regional Tourism Organisation Region \u0160ari\u0161 develops many interesting activities for visitors to the region. One of them is the telescopic sightseeing at tourist attractive places. In 2019, we purchased the first observation telescope and placed it at the Pre\u0161ov Calvary, a year later we purchased an observation telescope and placed it at the \u0160ari\u0161 Castle. The last telescope purchased so far is the telescope at the Bala\u017eka lookout tower in Lipany.\u201c <\/em>said Branislav \u0160vorc, Executive Director of OOCR Regi\u00f3n \u0160ari\u0161.\n\nTourist enthusiasts have a reason to visit the popular tourist attraction again.\n\n<em>\u201eThe observation telescope was given as a Christmas present to the inhabitants of Lipany and hiking enthusiasts. It was installed in December 2021 on the top floor of the observation tower. The installation was helped by <\/em><em>gentlemen from the maintenance department of the Municipality of Lipany. This telescope is mine-free and visitors can use it free of charge.\u201d<\/em> said Michal Vi\u0161\u0148ovsk\u00fd, project manager of the Municipal Office in Lipany.\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8726 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.regionsaris.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/4_osadenie_dalekohladu_foto_mesto_lipany_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1728\" height=\"1296\" \/>\n<pre>Photo: town Lipany archive<\/pre>\nUsing the telescope and its 25x magnification, visitors can observe the scenes at their fingertips. <em>Binoculars<\/em>\u00a0thus allowing <em>views of the whole surroundings,<\/em> thanks to its attachment to the base, which is infinitely rotatable by\u00a0<em>360 degrees. When observed from 146 cm eyepiece height and <\/em>The 100mm lenses ensure a clear and bright image.\n\nThanks to the telescope, the lookout tower has become even more attractive, which is also confirmed by the number of visitors.
