Park of Culture and Rest in Pre\u0161ov<\/strong>, also known by the abbreviation PKO<\/a>, is one of the city\u2019s key cultural institutions. Its mission is to bring culture and social activities to both the residents and visitors of Pre\u0161ov, and to provide a venue for concerts, events, festivals, community activities, exhibitions and various forms of artistic expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The history of PKO dates back to 1959, when the founding charter of the Park of Culture and Leisure in Pre\u0161ov was issued on 10 October. From the very beginning, its activities were linked to the historic Black Eagle building on Hlavn\u00e1 Street. Over the decades, the organisation\u2019s remit has expanded to include further cultural venues and activities in various parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most distinctive places associated with the Park of Culture and Leisure is Black Eagle<\/strong>, a historic building in the centre of Pre\u0161ov.
