The village of Zborov is mentioned as a part of the Smilno manor and from 1414 it belonged to the Makovica manor. The manor was successively held by the Cudar family, the Rozgonyi family, later by the Ser\u00e9dy family and from 1601 by the R\u00e1k\u00f3czi family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0160er\u00e9dy Manor is named after the owner of Makovice Manor, Ga\u0161par \u0160eredy, who received Stropkov, Pezin, Sv\u00e4tojur and Makovice Manors from King Ferdinand II for his military merits. In addition to the extensive reconstruction of the castle, which turned it into a modern Renaissance fortress, he had a manor house built right in the village. It fulfilled mainly residential and administrative functions. A garden was placed around the manor house. Stables, stables and other outbuildings as well as an impressive hexagonal well were added to the rear of the building. After Gaspar's death in 1555, the manor was inherited by his brother Juraj, the captain of Ko\u0161ice and the county governor of \u0160ari\u0161. After his death, the estate was first acquired by the Polish Duke Jan of Ostroh and later sold to Sigismund II R\u00e1kocz. We do not know its Renaissance architectural form, as it was later rebuilt several times. During the Reformation the manor house also served as an evangelical chapel. Countess Helena Zr\u00ednska, the wife of Franti\u0161ek I R\u00e1koczi, was responsible for this. There was another manor house called R\u00e1koczi manor and it was separated from the \u0160er\u00e9di manor by a park where Franti\u0161ek I R\u00e1koczi had the famous R\u00e1koczi tree planted. \u201eAlley of 100 Likes\u201c<\/strong>. In 1935, a Hungarian botanist discovered a specific species of linden here, which was later named Lipa R\u00e1koczi<\/strong>. The avenue was maintained until the First World War, when it was significantly damaged, as well as the manor house. Not all locals agreed on its restoration and so in 1922 22 healthy lime trees were felled and ended up as fuel. The manor house later belonged to the noble families of Erd\u00f6dy and Clary-Aldringen. In 1907 it was bought by the state for the forestry authority. After the First World War, the State Forestry Administration repaired it in 1918 and used it as an administrative building and also for housing. In 1969 it was destroyed by fire, which damaged it considerably. Today, the Civic Association for the Repair of Zborov Castle is responsible for its repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
