Its history dates back to the 18th century, when Count \u017digmund Klobu\u0161ick\u00fd had it built on the site of an older Renaissance mansion, and to this day it remains part of <a href=\"https:\/\/sarisskahradnacesta.sk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u0160ari\u0161 Castle Road<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The History of Petrovany Manor House<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The descendants of the nobleman Sinka, who adopted the surname \u201eSzentp\u00e9tery\" in the 15th century, had their manor in Petrovany, comprising two estates \u2013 the lower one by the church and the upper one by the road leading towards Pre\u0161ov, where there was also a mill. In 1756, Maria Theresa granted the Klobu\u0161ick\u00fd family the title of count, and in the same year, Franti\u0161ek Klobu\u0161ick\u00fd\u2019s grandson, \u017digmund, had a new Baroque manor house built on the site of the Szentp\u00e9tery Renaissance manor house. The manor house served as a hunting lodge for the count\u2019s family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The manor house grounds and ice house<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The manor house grounds consist of service areas, an entrance area (courtyard) and landscaped grounds. The entrance area comprises an oval-shaped green space with a circulation route. The oval grassed area, with symmetrically planted conifers, has a transverse compositional axis oriented towards the main entrance to the manor house. To the north-west of the main building stands an ice house with distinct Baroque features. In the north-western part of the park, a new building for the Dominican Sisters\u2019 Convent has been constructed, with landscaped grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Natural-landscape park<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The park was created around the Baroque-Classical manor house, built in 1756, on the site of an older country garden in the late 19th century. At the time of its creation, it was a more extensive layout, which was reduced as the buildings\u2019 functions changed, when the grounds were enclosed and the outlying areas were divided into plots. Originally, the old building was surrounded by a protective embankment \u2013 a moat \u2013 which Count Klobu\u0161ick\u00fd had filled in, leaving only a small pond. Further farm and service buildings, as well as a gatehouse, were added. The park forms a unified complex with the manor house grounds, where the interplay between the architectural and landscaping elements creates an integral whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Petrovany Manor House in the 20th century<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the 20th century, the manor house was sold on several occasions and used by its owners for the storage of goods, as a state-run children\u2019s home, and as an institution for children with mental and physical disabilities.
